Meet the new Executive Director of Inquilinos Unidos

On January 23, Inquilinos Unidos (IU) welcomed the newly appointed Executive Director, Elsa P. Chagolla. Elsa is a visionary leader who brings a depth of experience in empowering low-income families through her work in education and youth advocacy. Elsa’s career has spanned the nonprofit, private, and public sectors, with leadership positions at the nonprofits LA’s Promise and CFY, as well as Roll Global LLC’s philanthropy programs and the United States Department of Education. A native of the Los Angeles area, Elsa knows IU’s communities and understand our families’ needs.

The “Meet and Greet” for Elsa was well attended by IU supporters and collaborators including Inner City Law Center, Eviction Defense Network, Public Counsel, Healthy Home Collaborative, Centro Latino for Literacy, Legal Aid Foundation, Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance and other tenant rights attorneys and organizations. The evening was filled with much excitement and positive energy as Elsa shared her vision to increase IU’s visibility, diversify funding streams, and expand programs and services to the vulnerable low-income working class families of the Pico-Union, Macarthur Park/Westlake, Koreatown and Mid-Wilshire neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
